Chairman / Tony Harrison / FPRIA FAICD

 

Tony HarrisonTony, who is regarded as Tasmania’s most respected communications consultant, has in excess of 36 years journalism and public relations experience, is a former political journalist and former press secretary to two Tasmanian Premiers. He was a senior public relations executive with the Australian Tourist Commission where he directed national and international public communication and marketing programs, and has extensive business, government, and media contacts. For more than 16 years, he has been involved in providing high-level corporate advice, political lobbying services and directing community consultation programs. He is the former National President of the Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA) and past President of the PRIA in Tasmania. He has won numerous state, national and international awards for public relations excellence including a prestigious National Golden Target Gold Award in 2000 and 2003 for government communication. The consultancy is the only consultancy in the state to have ever won a National Golden Target Gold award. He was also awarded a Tasmania Day Award for his service to the public relations profession. Outside the business, he is a Director of Cricket Australia (the former ACB) and Chairman of the Cricket Tasmania, and a member of the Council of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). Tony is a Fellow of the AICD and a Fellow of the PRIA, the highest honour awarded to a public relations practitioner in Australia. In 2003 he was awarded the prestigious president’s award by the Public Relations Institute of Australia for his contribution to the profession at a national level.

 

Managing Director / Nicolas Turner / MPRIA MAICD

 

Nick TurnerNicolas has more than 25 years experience as a journalist and public relations practitioner in Tasmania. As a former statewide newspaper journalist, Nicolas maintains extensive contacts in the media, both in Tasmania and interstate. He manages the full range of communications programs on behalf of the consultancy’s clients and provides strategic communications advice to major business in the public and private sector. He consults to enterprises involved in employment services, tourism, primary production, sport and recreation, energy distribution and retail, public transport, manufacturing and mining, building and construction, waste management and the maritime sector. Nicolas also oversees the consultancy’s media skills training program that involves a team of consultants and external facilitators. Nicolas won the Public Relations Institute of Australia’s (PRIA) Young Practitioner of the Year award in his first year with the consultancy and has received numerous state and national awards for public relations excellence.

 

He is currently National Treasurer and former Tasmanian president of the PRIA. Outside the business, Nicolas is a Life Member of the OHA Hockey Club in Hobart.

 

Director / Craig Harding / BEc, Dip EM, AMAMI

 

Craig HardingCraig has extensive marketing experience, working in the discipline for more than 16 years. He has managed campaigns for a variety of clients including State and Commonwealth Government Departments and small to medium-sized private enterprises.

His marketing experience encompasses the broad range of marketing-related mechanisms including brand positioning strategies, brand image development, producing advertising and marketing collateral such as script and copy writing, media planning, pre and post campaign research and analysis, sponsorship direction and project management. Craig has an intricate knowledge of the Tasmanian media ensuring campaigns efficiently and effectively reach their intended target audiences. Craig has successfully managed and implemented the consultancy's integrated advertising and marketing campaigns covering issues suchs campaigns for bushfire awareness, anti-domestic violence, drug education and work experience placement for humanitarian placements.

 

Craig, who manages the consultancy's marketing division, has undertaken numerous buyer behaviour and customer satisfaction surveys for a range of clients, providing a strong platform for strategic marketing planning and direction.

 

Director / Ingrid Harrison / FPRIA MAICD

 

Ingrid HarrisonIngrid has extensive experience, with 35 years in journalism and public relations. She has worked in newspapers and television news in Hobart and Melbourne and was a senior public relations executive with the University of Tasmania and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. With extensive business and media contacts, Ingrid provides specialist communication advice to the consultancy and its clients. Her major area of expertise is the preparation of strategic communication programs for the consultancy’s current and prospective client base. She also oversees the consultancy’s quality control standards to ensure that all communications prepared are of the highest standards. Ingrid is Editor of the Tasmanian Business Reporter which Corporate Communications produces in a joint venture partnership with the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Editor of Brighton Community News produced by the consultancy for Brighton Council. The consultancy also owns the monthly community newspaper Eastern Shore Sun, which Ingrid manages and edits. Ingrid is a former Tasmanian Secretary and President of the Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA) and is a Director on the national Board of the PRIA. She is a Fellow of the PRIA, the highest honour awarded to a public relations practitioner in Australia.

 

Director / Daniel Leesong / MBA FAICD

 

Daniel LeesongDaniel has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and is an accomplished senior executive with extensive general management, sales, marketing, national and state corporate affairs, public affairs and business development experience.

 

He has returned to Tasmania after spending the past two years heading up the national Communications Council, successfully managing the amalgamation of the Advertisers Federation of Australia, the Australasian Writers and Directors Association, the Account Planning Group and the Australasian Promotional Marketers Association. The combined body represents a $32 billion industry.

 

He was previously Chief of Staff to Premier Paul Lennon, Chief Executive of the Tourism Industry Council Tasmania, State Director of the Australian Hotels Association and a senior nation executive with the Distilled Industry Council of Australia, and the Australian Hotels Association.

 

Daniel's expertise spans private enterprise, government management, media relations, negotiation, lobbying, education institution management, tourism industry development, sponsorship negotiation, strategic alliance negotiation, public speaking, event management and face to face and written communication.
